perimeter - plaster and thermal insulation - GDL

I recently developt a GDL-part for the perimeter-plaster and thermal insulation-layers with the possibility to alter the z-hights.

It is based on the polygon-functionality of arch. esteban ramos as in the former Elements i showd you recently.

It is meant for beeng able to set the perimeter-plasterhight in 3d independent from the wall - z-0.

You have to perform a solid element-substraction with prolonging down of the element from the wall above.

It is not possible, to cut out the windwos which can be situated in the cellar-wall. That You will have to do manuel by SOE from the Element.

In normal planing-situation, you will insert more than one of this Elements to your drawing to spare out the doors. In my simple example - i used just one around the whole buliding to show the functionality.

to try it till its set free fom Bimcomponents:

Excellent , once again -
Could this also be modified to be used for brick or stone veneer with capping , cut at windows and doors , without having two walls running interference or using compound walls. ?

cutting out the windows situated in the Wall with such a the GDL will be the real challange.. and i see no direct way now.

What would be possible - to add prefabricated holes in every polygone - sequence - to turn on and off with a hotspot - and to drag to the exact position of the Window or Door in the wall.. with further hotspots.

This then would be another of my hotspotmonsters..

Well, Good object!

Actually I prefer using wall elements to do that. I think I can have a better control over them even they are much more elements to control ...
What about the quantity take off?

But it make me thinking of a wish regarding a wall with a modelable top part ...
it would help our modelling a lot and let us avoid a lot of extra working to achieve what we have in mind ...

alemanda!

Thats exactly what i want to show to Graphisoft with my gdl-parts!

In the normal profile-wall and multi-layerd walls - there should be the possibility to do that.

It should be possible to alter every hight of every material-layer within the Wall itself in 3D, Sections and so an. direct in the Editor itself without the need of en axtra dialoguebox.

By making a new point within a Walls guideline, there should be the possibility to alter the different Layers at the top and the bottom and also the possibility to change Hights from one point to the other to slope it.

My object just shows the need for that kind of functionality!

Hi Heimo!
It's great to see how you have taken the polygon code to build some useful things.

I've seen that in recent objects you have splitted each segment in two to alter heights. While I see the point for doing this (otherwise corners could be a problem), for the example posted by RandyC, I don't really see this need.

In that example, it is so easy to add and remove points using the base code that instead of having only 5 points for the corners of the walls (in red), you could add as many points as needed in between (in blue), provided the code allows for the manipulation of each segment's height individually. I think it would be easier to handle.

Keep up the great work!
I'm really glad someone took the time to realize the dynamic polyline code potential; but what I would really love is that GS extended the building materials priority functionality to GDL as well.

Best regards.

Yes. +1
polygon code inside GDL (native) should be a "gate" to great developments of very useful object.
