i've been struggling to find out the solution on this prob.. for long but no luck...
anyone who can help with tips on how to give parameters and customize the objects i've created so i can manipulate their sizes and shapes without creating a new but similar object....
like option of materials, sizes, fill types... etc etc.
thanks

Loumy, have you created the objects in GDL or are you importing them from elsewhere?

For a wonderful introduction to creating parametric objects, get the GDL Cookbook.

BTW, this post should have been in the "library parts" section. 😉

There is also the 'Object Making With ArchiCAD' pdf which is a good place to start learning the absolute basics. The link is found here - http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=23839

Also, one of the free Interactive Training Guide available at

http://www.graphisoft.com/products/archicad/training_guides/

is called

Building Objects Creation.

You should do that first.

gEE.. thanx friends for the links... i haven't tried them yet but i will... i'll give you the results... well, actually i did not import them neither create them from the GDL part of ArchiCAD, though it's one of my interest to know the GDL scripting language..
what i normally do is create the object in ArchiCAD work environment itself, i ormally use slabs, walls or any tool suitable.. and i save the object manually...
but its hard to change the parameters for these objects, because they are not there!...
that is why i asked..

but anyway, let me check out the links friends have given me and give out the results.. thanx guys...

I am not 100% sure but I think in the Building Objects Creation tutorial I recommended you may find suggestions for such situations.
