Dormer window in Thatch

How can I get a roof shape like that from the Ox-eye Object into a thatch roof? Would like to use the object, but I can't separate, change or set back the window in it. Is there an easy way to construct a similar shape from scratch?[/img]

And like Love and Marriage,
SEO goes with Complex Profile:

Any time you have a shape to extrude, consider the complex profile as a wall or beam. The eyebrow form for the dormer can easily be done this way, then cut into the actual roof planes with an SEO.

If the dormer should tilt forward slightly, give your beam extrusion some slope....

Thanks Dwight,

the hint with the beam was very usefull for me. Since I haven't used my own profiles until now, I used a wall first and could not define the slope...

Using SEO was also a problem, but here I only had to change the priporoity of the objects.

Now I just need to figure out how to deal with the opening in the flor.
