Educational License for Archicad 30 – How Can I Use It with Archicad 28?

Hello everyone!

I recently applied for and received an educational license for Archicad 30, which I have already activated and is working properly.

However, due to compatibility issues with some projects and templates I use, I need to switch back to Archicad 28.

When I try to activate Archicad 28 using the same educational license code, the software informs me that the code has already been used or has expired, preventing me from activating it.

I would like to know if there is a way to use my current educational license with Archicad 28, or if it is possible to request a new activation code specifically for that version.

My main question is: Does the Archicad 30 educational license allow users to access previous versions of the software? If not directly, is there any procedure to activate Archicad 28 using my existing educational license?

I already have a valid educational license and simply need to use an older version for compatibility reasons.

Historically and usually the licenses have always been downwards compatible. I don't know why you are struggling with it – maybe it's connected to the way GS does licensing in general (there has been a switch in technology behind the curtains).

The only way to find out (and get help) is to write to your local team/representative, though. Sorry!

Your Archicad 30 educational serial number should work with Archicad 28, as long as Archicad 28 is updated to the latest available build.

Once you’ve downloaded the update, remember to install it before trying to activate Archicad 28 again.
