Hi GS Team
Graphisoft have several license types and product package options which expanded with the latest addition of the Collaborate Subscription package and the announcement of the Shift to a subscription model (also refer here).
I need to clarify what we can do and can not do when Saving Archicad versions up/down and what products & services is linked with with the Multiple License types (also refer here) that is available?
These questions relates to all Archicad versions & all Operating Systems.
- Perpetual Licenses: a license probably most users are familiar with.
With an Archicad version (ie. v27) we can open project files of that version & multiple file versions back (ie. to v17) - refer here
With an Archicad version (ie. v26) we can open project files of that version & multiple file versions back (ie. to v8.1) - refer here
With all Archicad versions (ie. v27 & older) we can save project files of that version & one versions back (ie. to v26) - refer here
Commercial licenses: Types of commercial licenses > Full license
"With a Full license you can use the fully functional Graphisoft product with unlimited usage. You will be able to run older versions as well."
- Cloud Licensing:
How does Cloud Licensing impact File compatibility between different License types (vs. Subscription & Perpetual licenses) & their License versions?
- Subscription license:
What is the File compatibility between different License types (ie. Subscription & Perpetual licenses) & their License versions?
- Included / Excluded Products & Services: Archicad, BIMcloud (Basic, On Premise, SaaS), BIMx / BIMx Pro, DDScad, Graphisoft Forward.
How do these different License Types impact what products Products are available for the respective license types?
How do these different License Types impact what products Products are available for the respective license types?
The various license options are good for flexible practice management & enables collaboration & scaling of practices.
But the information to these questions are not easy to find & not documented in some cases. It is therefor really difficult to do proper future planning and to figure out what options & combinations will suit a practice or project.
Is there perhaps a matrix / table / graph that clearly outlines these combinations & options?
