.mod Files

I am trying to merge some .mod files into a EDU version project and I get the attached message.... I then tried to open it as it has suggested (seperately in EDU mode and save it as an EDU copy, but it always opens the mod file as an empty project (even when all layers are on) and gives the same message. Any ideas?
