sections and elevations not working

I've been having problems with all views except floor plans ever since i installed archicad. the latest problem: my sections and elevations just won't build. last problem was generic perspective not building: i ended up copying and pasting all my elements into a new project and re-installing archicad. my generic perspective view is working better now. any suggestions besides re-installing archicad once a week?

Can you give people more to go on - AC version, system specs etc.?
