has v 10 brought us any solutions within archicad or has anyone come up with a quick solution to board & batt walls?
thanks, timo
Hi Tim,

Nothing natively in 10 will do this. As mentioned by others below, the CadImage accessories will do B&B as applied 3D elements.

If all someone wants is linework that is visible in 3D hidden line views and elevations, then this tip may be helpful:

In the tip/tutorial there, I applied several different "sidings" as linework to a wall - including B*B.

Cheers,
Karl

That, Karl, is a most brilliant and excellent tip! May you receive a tip of the month for that one...

THANKS!

This is a great discussion, but it begs to ask if this much archi-talk is generated by a board and batten subject why isn't GS giving us the tools we need instead of sloping walls and funky roofs that only an architect can appreciate and few contractors can build. The tools described would be much more useful to me as an architect. Maybe Nemetschek will listen to this types of suggestions.

Happy 007!

I have to agree, Bob. All kinds of typical elements should be automatic and in the box IMHO. (Take something even more simple like corner boards!)

Happy 007 🙂 to everyone, too!

hello karl (& others)!
thanks for posting the tip.
i agree this type of material should come as a basic acVx material, maybe , someday.... (along with window profiles that actually look like the ones we put in our homes.)
i worked through most of the 'step by step' guide for v10. that was the 1st and only time i have tried to use the 'profile manager'. from my limited experiance using it with a wall it only worked horizontally. could a complex profile be made to work with walls for board & batt?
thanks again!
