Can anyone tell me how to rescale a 3D model?
I've got a model thats been drawn in metres and i want to rescale it to be in millimetres but when i use the resize command, it only works in the X and Y axis, not the Z.

What should i be doing?

cheers,

What kind of model?

ArchiCAD? DWG? If DWG, how is it imported?

If ArchiCAD, whether it is done in meters or millimeters, it does not matter, just change the working units. the absolute size should be OK and the units when you open it shoudl set themselvs to the units used when the project was done.

If AutoCAD, and 3D, it came in as an object, so change the sizes in the object settings.

Is it a case of dimansions showing meters? That is set in the Dimensioning preferences.

Or is your question misunderstood? No wonder as it is not clear what you want to do.

There were these three letters walked into a bar, an "X" and "X" and an "X"....

sorry - just a guy trying to get out of a reply by deleting it and realizing he was stuck in the loop.

Sorry, i should have been a bit clearer about what i was after.

I have 2 separate Archicad models- one, a masterplan, which was drawn using metres, and one, an individual building, drawn using mm and so when i try to bring one into the other they do not fit.

I have been trying to use the resize command to get them to fit but as i explained before the resize only seems to work in the X and Y axis, not the Z.
Am i missing something from the resize command or is there a similar 3D command?

thanks for your help.

Hmmm ... sounds to me someone did not do his model properly. Whatever the units used are, it should be in relative terms OK.

Resize does not work in the Z direction, you are right. Save the building as a GDL object, insert it in the site plan, and then it can be resized as you wish or need.
