A slab will split but a roof won't...

hi

I can draw a simple slab and split it.

I have a simple square hipped roof that I want to convert to gable end. why doesn't split work on the roof?

any ideas welcome.

Groups again, most likely. 'Reshaping' (split, adjust, stretch) grouped elements is generally not allowed; you need to suspend groups. Also, be advised that a 'simple' hipped roof isn't actually simple, it has four separate roof elements.
