AC11 - Linetypes in Complex Profile

How do I get a foundation wall profile to show dashed lines at the footing in PLAN view?
So far, I can only manage to get solid lines and it looks very confusing.

There are several ways. How ar you modeling your footings?

I started with the FNDN 10" Conc profile that was already in there.
Just lines and fills it appears.

Get ArchiCAD 11.

The reason is becuse ArchiCAD 11 has a setting for Uncut Lines that ArchiCAD 10 doesn't. In ArchiCAD 10 you need to used masking fills and other messy workarounds.

LOL...I am using AC11...well, 30-day DEMO version.
I obviously don't understand the Cut/Uncut line thing.
I swear I changed every one of those settings and only got dashed lines in section, not plan.
Keep bringing the help.

Sorry, the name FNDN 10" Conc implied AC10 to me. Didn't know it was included in the AC11 DEMO version.

The uncut line type is related to your floor plan cut plane, but still depends on the Floor Plan Display of your wall.

Ok, had to chance to play with the settings some more.
Changing the Uncut linetype did indeed change the lines to Dashed.
The problem is that it changed them all and I only want the two outermost lines (representing the footing) to be dashed...the middle 10" foundation wall should reamin solid.

So I may need to change the height of the floor cut?
I will look at the Help file...thanks.

Exactly. Cut the stem wall, don't cut the footing. 😉

I feel pretty certain that I have the Cut Plane Settings correct.
I'm leaning towards thinking that ArchiCAD views the whole Complex Profile as ONE element and can't differentiate the footing from the stem wall.
Do you guys think that is a safe assumption?
And if so, should I look at having two separate Complex Profiles?...one for the stem wall and one for the footing.

SUH-WEET!
I figured it out...I needed to change the Stretch Line locations in the Complex Profile editor to be ABOVE the footing.
Now my Plan View looks fantastic.

Now if I can just convince my company that we need to switch to ArchiCAD.
I'll pose that scenario in another thread...
