AC20 Minor annoyances

Overall, I like AC20 a lot! However, there are a couple of minor issues that make it very difficult to work.

1) We seem to have lost the 3D line/flat color library previews, and so now all 3D previews are rendered. This makes it very hard to see any detail in a 3D view if the object is white on the white background. Is there any way to get the old-style preview back?

2) I've noticed that sometimes 3D elements like morphs do not show up right away in the 2D view if they were drawn in 3D. Sometimes it takes drawing a similar element in plan, and then all the elements show up. This is probably a bug, but is there any way to overcome this in the meantime?

the Find & Select box. So 'Add' is on the left and it pops up a box on the right, and then everything is collapsed.
On my Mac, the box pops up on the left side if there is enough screen space on that side, so try moving the palette to the right. Once sections are opened in the box, they remain open by default when the box is reopened.

Thanks David, I moved things around on my screen to give room on the left and that helps.

Hi! We have been aware of this issue, there is an entry about this in our developer database (#212112). We are planning to add a WE checkbox under More Options to control the status of contours of the Favourite 3D previews and Library Part Settings 3D previews in the next ARCHICAD version.
Best, k

What happened to the "Edit Selection Set" button,
which previously resided in the Layer Section of the "Info Box"??

I added it to my custom toolbar, but I'm so used to having it in that location.

They removed it to make more space and because conceptually it shouldn't be there (don't get mad at me I am just the messenger ) If you use standard shortcuts, and the reason I don't miss the icon, it is CMD+OPT+T.

Anyone else find opening the Favourites palette or clicking on the toolbar to pop out the palette slow?

I made a wee movie below showing how sluggish it is to appear.

Yes, but no where near as slow as yours. With 10 favorites ours takes about 3 seconds to 'build' the list the first time the tool is used each day (why isn't this persistent and not need to rebuild each time the file is opened?). Subsequent openings are instant.

We are using SSD's on Core i7 with 16gb RAM. I'm guessing you have a spinning, maybe 5400rpm, drive which takes a while to spool up. Seriously, an SSD upgrade will make your system feel like a new computer.

That is a minor annoyance to me too
