Is there anyone there able to help me get this font ARCHITXT fonts as shown in the pic here for Archicad. I have it in Autocad but it is in SHX format and can't use it for Archicad.

Find the similar True Type font, and assign it in the translation font table. If you wsnt to translate SHXs to TTFs, you have to have both of the same name. All the standard SHXs have corresponding TTFs provided by Autodesk, when you install AutoCAD. So the person you got the drawing from might have the TTF?

A good substitute is a font pack available from Objects On Line called " Architects Font Pak" and has a font called MrHand and Heavy Hand that work really well and look good. You can purchase a font from one of the font merchants called "Graphite" that is also very nice. Don't know of any freebees at present.

If you are using the US version...
I think that a similar "ArchiTEXT.TTF" is included with the "MSA" content. It may not be a perfect match, but it is a free alternative.

The company I work for has their own font, which is a shx file. Is there a way for me to use it in ArchiCAD. What I have been doing is use a font in ArchiCAD, then when saving, translate the font to their font style. I use ArchiCAD they use AutoCAD.

just purchased them but cannot for the life of me get them to install - the system just won't recognise them for what they are - fonts. i've tried adding the extension '.ttf' to the end. the system then thinks that they're fonts, but still can't use them.

what am i doing wrong guys?

Gidday Ben:

I had a problem adding the same fonts, but I was installing by dragging the fonts to the fonts folder.

What I needed to do was launch "Font Book" (in applications folder?) and from the menu bar: File> Add Fonts....

good luck

yeah - i tried that too: no luck. font book wouldn't recognise the files.

but i did get an email back from the author of the font pack who advised me to use stuffit expander on the files before placing them in the fonts folder: that worked a treat!

i couldn't see anywhere in the instructions that mentions stuffit expander (but i'm normally quite blind to any kind of instruction/manual ), so if anybody else comes here with a similar problem that's what you need to do . . .

cheers
