Adding a single point to mesh

Ashleigh1

I have recently upgraded to Archicad27 from an educational version.  I am trying to add a single mesh point to an existing mesh (not a contour).  I have the mesh selected, and the mesh tool highlighted.  When I click space bar and double click, it is coming up with the "New Mesh Point Box", but when I click "ok" nothing happens.  Has anyone got any tips on how to resolve this.

Thanks!

On the odd occassion, I just draw a line, then merge the two points...

Thankyou - I have just clicked on the Geometry Method is set to "Polygonal" and this has allowed me to create a single mesh point.

THANKYOU!!!

The trick is to have the mesh selected, the mesh tool active and in 'polygon' geometry method.

Then just double click where you want the point and choose 'fit to user ridges'.

You can also draw a polyline and click twice on the last point.

That never worked for me in the past... I would click OK and would not get a point... I think that was back on 19...

This is great - thank you so much!

it usually doesn't work for me either and I'm in 27. Sometimes, but not usually...

The only time it seems to work is in a 3D view, never in plan view

You must have the mesh selected, the mesh tool active and the geometry method set to polygonal.

Then the first click inside the mesh boundary will start to draw a contour line (polyline).

Click more point to create a contour line and double click the last point to end.

If you want just a single point (not a contour), you just click again on the first point (double click).

Yup, that's how I've been doing it. But in plan view, after the first click inside the mesh boundary, the mesh selection is lost, and nothing happens. Seems to work fine in 3D views though. I don't remember this happening when we were using V24, but since we've upgraded to V27 it's been a problem.

I've tried closing the file and doing an open and repair, but that doesn't help.

I don't have 27 with me to check at the moment.

I just tried in 25 and that only happens if i don''t have the mesh tool active.
