Aerial photo visible in 3D window

I have an aerial photo 700m x 700m and would like to use it in my model as a base for which the 3D info is placed upon.

I thought that if I created a slab to the same dimensions and used the photo as a texture, it would work....obviously not!

The photo seems to have a fixed point of origin, so if I move the slab, the photo remains and tiling occurs.

Is there anyway of adjusting the origin of the texture so that it constrains itself within the slab, even if I move the slab?

Yes, there is. First select the slab in wich u want to set your texture. Then on the Main Menu:

Design > Align 3D Texture > Set origin

If u need u may also try:

Design > Align 3D Texture > Set Direction

That should work.

HI,

This is a late answer, but I hope it will help on others as well.
Use ti Carpet GDL object for this function.
For this object You can use your own picture as a texture and the GDL object strech it into the size of the picture...

Similar function for vertical pictures, use the Picture object.

I hope it helps on you...
