ArchiCAD 11 will come soon (as much as I suspect..)
What can AC 11 do better than AC10?

Well with AC now on a 12-month release cycle, we will most likely move to a 24-month cycle. I think that the 12-month cycle can see a lose in $$. I remember in my ACAD days, that the odd releases (or was it the even) were good, but the even were bad.

I've had AC9 for about 1 month, then AC10 - so I am a total beginner on this forum. For me, I can't wait to upgrade to AC11! I haven't tried it yet, but I feel it will save me time in the everyday workflow w/ the added / improved tools. Time is definitely money for me, even for a single user firm. It should be more for bigger firms, no?

Also, I feel the recent years are different from the past in the Virtual Building timeline - because of all the competition and the increased awareness in general on these programs. This will naturally up the antes for everyone, and increase the funding / development speed. Everything in life (pretty much) is on a yearly cycle - so why not AC? I'll be happy as long as there are any improvements to the workflow.

The virtual trace seems to be a great step towards implementing traditional design / visualization steps of drawing on layers and layers of tracing paper in a new digital form. I know that it won't replace real tracing paper and design w/ pencil, but I feel it's an important first step. The worksheets - I'm not sure what it is exactly, but if it can let me reference any view from anywhere like it promises, then I feel that's a real improvement to my workflow - of making empty details and overlapping them in the layout w/ the section view, group them, etc., etc...Of course, there are lots of other little improvements here and there that I'm sure will make AC easier for me.

Being an ArchiCAD user since 6.0, I really need a reason to be impressed and haul out another $500. Since I spend a considerable amount of time in the 3D editing environment I would like to know if the OpenGL engine has been enhanced? Does anyone know? Thanks.

glass actually works in OpenGL, responding to transparency settings.....

Seems to be a consolidation upgrade rather than an innovative one. The Interior Elevation capability should be useful.

Noticed in the new features movies that AC-NF-11 is missing (the sequence goes 1 - 10 and then 12-13). Is it symbolism or was it a feature that didn't make the final release because it wasn't ready?

mikem, that's very observative! Don't know why it wasn't listed, but I found this link from one of the dealer sites:

Looks like it was omitted because it wasn't particularly useful.

I have to admit, the interior elevations are really nice in conjunction with the new "place multiple drawings" feature in layouts, that let you place several drawings lined up with a set gap between them (say, 1")
