We have released ArchiCAD 18 Update 4020. It is currently available through the automatic update system for the INT, USA, AUS and GER language versions. Further language versions will be enabled as they pass Quality Control. You can download the Update packages from the Release Notes page here:

Hey Andor is there any documentation available on installing (not just updating) multiple versions of the same ArchiCAD but different builds? This is for contractors who may be accessing BIM Servers on different builds.

I know it can be done easily enough, but just wanted to know if there is anywhere to direct users to?

(Sorry if this has been covered already)

Cheers,
Link.

In the meantime, these are brief instructions possible both on windows and on mac:

A) Install it to a different location, then move under Applications/GRAPHISOFT or C:\Program Files\GRAPHISOFT

B) Move the installed ArchiCAD folders to somewhere else, install the new ArchiCAD instance at the default location then move the original back to the same place

C) Duplicate the installed ArchiCAD folder, then update one of those with the hotfix.

When you install a hotfix you can choose which instance would you like to apply this. (One hotfix installing process affects only one instance)

To keep track of the ArchiCAD instances consider renaming the folders to ArchiCAD 18 3006 and ArchiCAD 18 4020.

Link regarding PC there is an easier way doing that:

Being in Program files\Graphisoft just copy a current (before update) version folder to the same loacation (copy in the name shows up).
Then You can update the installed version.
You can rename the copy folder to any name (like +build no)

You can of course update such copied version as well.

You can run a copied version without any problems - by running program from inside the copied folder - or make a shortcut.

So any insight as to why this is an Update and no longer a Hotfix?

Of course you're right Peter, thanks. Still hoping GS will release an official document into the help center for this.

And why the library wasn't also updated to include the Enhanced Revision History Object?

Hi Jared,

traditionally we released hotfixes to fix issues, starting from v18 we may also release new features like the BIMcloud - BIMx workflow integration distributed with this update: http://www.graphisoft.com/info/news/press_releases/graphisoft-bimcloud-extends-workflow-integration-...

Hi Link,

we have separate updates for our built-in libraries and for our executable applications. This update belongs to the second category.
We plan to integrate the new object into the ArchiCAD 19 library, until then the object is available on bimcomponents.com.

Oh interesting. So an update will include some additional functionality in addition to bug fixes, while a hotfix will just be fixes. Got it. Looking back over the past few versions, we've definitely had hotfixes that fall under the second category. I like the formal differentiation.
