On 4/15, tr.graphjisoftus.com also posted yet another 75 mb library update.

Does anyone know if we need to update the library file from 4/15 before updating with the latest patch.

Thanks,

I'm having a number of "effects" with the 8.1r2b patch. Mostly they are confirming effects reported wtih earlier versions. One of them though is new and making this a non-usable patch.
When I place a detail in plan, and open it, only the walls show. See attached screen shot.
I have tried all the different styles, made sure all layers were visible and unlocked and rebuilt from source view.

Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone else reproduce it? It has happened in both project files and my 8.1r2b test file (latter created with a new and reset). I have sent it in to techsupport.

Thanks,
back to 8.1r2

P.S. i am back on 8.1r2 and detail window shows correctly.
If anyone on windows XP could check it out I would be most grateful.
Perhaps there is a new setting I missed?
thanks

The Detail seems to be working fine for me too. And I can happily report that both of the bugs I noticed have been fixed: I successfully transferred my keyboard shortcuts from 8.1v1 and the library .pla now has the correct hierarchy and includes the previously missing Roofmaker library.

What I have yet to figure out is what improvements, if any, I will experience.

Hi Erika,

I'm confused! In the JPG that you posted, the things that were not captured in the detail window were: text, labels (and leaders), dimensions, and section lines/markers.

C3PO and I just tried the R2D2, I mean R2B version (build 2275) and found that those things were not captured there ... but all 3D elements - objects, columns, etc. - were. I thought that this was the normal behavior.

The patch tool ignores the same elements.

So, are you saying that with R2 (build 2256 I think it was) that those 2D elements ARE captured by the detail window?

Thanks!

Phew!
I'm confused , and embarassed too. I'm glad it was that obvious. Somehow I kept thinking it had to be me.
A little panicky trying to get some stuff done.
I do get fills and linework from the plan or section in addition to the 3D elements just like the patch tool. Do you?
Thanks.
Thanks
Thanks

Yup! This ends up requiring a little cleanup on my part, since I rarely use the label tool for annotation, but instead use text and arrow-head-terminated splines. The splines come across to my detail windows without the text ... and so have to be either deleted or annotated. I just copy all of the detail to the right (like an unlinked section - so rebuild won't bring back what I delete/etc). I confess, I've only used the Detail tool for half a dozen "real" details so far, so my experience is pretty minimal here!
