This also works in a fashion when browsing objects in the libraries. Cool.

Here is another little new feature I see no mention of:
In StairMaker, it is now possible to define the Section Fill Type, Fill Color and Fill Background Color for both the Structure and the Treads.
This is useful stuff for me.

Here are the settings in the Treads Tab page.
Of course these parameter are also available among the parameters in the Stair Settings Dialog.

What I found is that if you create a new Stair in AC14 these new parameters will be available immediately.
However, if you open an AC13 Project in AC14, you will have to select each different Stair type and go to StairMaker so that it reads these new parameters. Then you will have them available for your Stairs in those Projects too.

I have come across some things in ArchiCAD 14 that do not work or are worse than before. When is the hot fix going to be available?

ArchiCAD 25 7000 USA - Windows 10 Pro 64x - Dell 7720 64 GB 2400MHz ECC - Xeon E3 1535M v6 4.20GHz - (2) 1TB M.2 PCIe Class 50 SSD's - 17.3" UHD IPS (3840x2160) - Nvidia Quadro P5000 16GB GDDR5 - Maxwell Studio/Render 5.2.1.49- Multilight 2 - Adobe Acrobat Pro - ArchiCAD 6 -25

Have you been reporting each of them through tech support channels? If they don't know what's wrong, it won't get fixed. (And, you've been at this long enough to know that there will not be an announcement of an impending hotfix unless there is a critical, killer bug situation. For normal bugs, the hotfix will arrive when things get through the quality assurance process...)

Cheers,

Yes, I have been reporting though tech support channels.
I have also posted some of them here on this forum.

For example, you can not use the square feet or square inch units in schedules.

Is that a killer bug? I suppose it depends on who you ask.
Or how about sizes in the schedules like 4'-12" ?

ArchiCAD 14 schedules don't work with units of cu.ft. or cu.in. ? ?
That may not be a killer bug to GS but it is certainly unacceptable and it needs to be fixed as soon as possible, rather than when the have enough bugs fixed to warrant a hot fix.

How do you like this New Feature ? It may have some usefulness but I haven't been able to imagine what it is yet. Is highlighting cells that are not related to the item you selected a useful new feature or is it a mistake that needs to be fixed?

A small thing that I just noticed is that gravity now stays on when switching back and forth between 2D and 3D tools.

In 13 if I switched to drawing a fill or something in the middle of placing fence post footings I would have to remember to turn the gravity back on and it is not easy to always remember this. Since there is no way to easily adjust to the mesh after the fact I would have to undo and redo all the footings.

I know this is not a big deal most of the time, but since my current project involves placing thousands of fence, rail, lamp post, gate and wall footings at correct elevations this is a welcome relief.
