Automatic Analytical Area Calculation

Good afternoon forum.
I've been told that untill AC16, you had the option to get an automatic analytical calculation of areas in fills/zones, something like the attached image (which I did manually as an example) I did some research but I didn't a tool that does that in AC17 or 18.Basicaly I want the program to dissect any given shape (fill/zone) into basic geometric shapes and then calculate visibly each area.
Any ideas?
Cheers!

Hi Anestis,
that is something unusual.

If you want to inquiry an area you can use Element Information.
If you want it on floorplan you can use a Label.
If you have many zones/fills you can use List.

ArchiCAD has many option and many ways to calculate areas (accuracy, reduction.......), try searching in HelpCenter.

But if you want ArchiCAD to define triangles and write down the equation i think you have to code a specific object in GDL.

This was an add-0n developed and released as part of the German Goodies and it dated back to the original appearance of Zones. It seems to have disappeared. I went back as far as ArchiCAD 12 and it's gone.

This was a useful tool. I used it to prepare area certificates for tenant leases. It showed the calculations graphically to demonstrate the veracity of the calculations.

Another one to bring back and distribute for the rest of us, along with the Japanese overshadowing tool.

Aaron,

Did you check the ACE library as well? I don't have ready access to it right now, but as I recall, it was rather extensive and included many tools from around the world.

I'm halfway there! The zone area list (I'm using a localized version of archicad so I am not sure the exact term) can do this. Now I need to figure out how to create a list that includes this.

thanks erich. the ace library is now gone. the tool I'm referring to was an add-on so it would not work on the current version even if it were there.
