Beam Visualization Conflicts between Layer Combinations?

Anonymous
Not applicable
Horizontal Beam exists and is seen in 3d in one layer combination, but not in another. This beam is on the same layer as other objects that are visible in both layer combinations. When all objects are turned on and unlocked, there are no 3d conflicts with the lost beam. Please advise.

Have you confirmed that the layer is on in the layer settings dialog?

Yes, and other objects that are on that same layer are showing up, just not the horizontal beam. ArchiCAD 11

The possibility of this is Rare, but stranger things have happened.

Could it be that you have two of the same beam (object) residing in the same space, yet on different layers. If it is a Beam that has a higher Priority number and is on a Layer that is Hidden, but has the same intersection number assigned for that layer combination, then it could "disappear". Also in Plan view, the beam ends will disappear even if the option is set to show beam ends.

The screen shot shows two beams (Hidden beam is shorter). Also the "hidden layer" for the view is actually On and set to Wireframe.

Does "all object turned on" mean ALL layers are turned on. Check this, there could be an object interfering that is on a hidden layer.

The solution I found, was to place the layer that the missing beams were on, on a higher priority level in the layer combination that the beams were missing from. A simple solution that I should have thought of earlier. Thank you all for your support.
