Beam’s display with different levels

Hi,

I have a model with wood beams. Joists are placed over the beam:

In the floor plan, the display is not accurate, because some lines are missing:

Is it possible to show them automatically? I am a little confused. I don’t know what I should expect from the model, and what I have to do manually in 2D.

You can also try to change the Beams to be Projected (rather than Symbolic). Which is a new option in AC23. Symbolic is the method Beams have always used, so if the Beams geometry interest then the lines clean up on Floor Plan. Changing to Projected will show the lines, because the 2D appearance is captured from the 3D model.

Thanks James! It’s true!

But, if I do that, will I be able to use overrides? I don’t find how to use them with this projection mode.

I guess you mean Graphic Overrides? It's the same as a Symbolic Beam. Now that Beams have a Cover Fill, the GO can override these Cover Fills - just make sure in the Rule, that you are overriding Cover Fill types. And that this Projected Beam, uses a Cover Fill.

Hi!

I don’t know if this is what you were saying, but it works whit this definition:
- Floor plan display: Outlines only (now I can see the
- Projection mode \Uncut: Projected

I need to read about this because I’m very lost with all these combinations.

Thank you all!
