Can i use the educational version for tutorials?

Hi!

We are a fledgling startup. Our customers are architects, and we would like to make a tutorial for them on how to use our service. We don't use any CAD software in our work, but our service creates generated CAD files. We would like to make a tutorial for using them. We can't afford the full version for something as small as this.

Is it allowed to this with the free student version? Or is there some other free version to do this with (Trial?)?

The EDU (student) version is only for work done in school, colleges, universities, etc. It cannot be used in a commercial endeavour.
I think you should go with the Trial version.

Even if you could, you would see a banner on the upper right corner indicating that this is "For Educational Use Only" which will not look very professional. If you use a Trial version take in consideration that the files created are locked to that particular installation of AC and they will not open in another version of AC unless you buy a license. My recommendation would be just to buy a monthly rental of AC. It is cheaper and you will not lose your files.

Thank you for the replies!

I only need to do a tutorial video where I demonstrate how to use a certain type of file in different CAD software, so the Trial limitation of unshareable files is no problem. I'm probably going to go with the Trial then! Unfortunate that the educational version cannot be used to educate (in my case).
