Can you SEO a Mesh to a Mesh?

Is it possible? I'm trying, but it's not working. (Subtraction with upward extrusion)

This is in AC9.

Marc,
I have found that SEO works with meshes if they are solid.
Could you explain a little more about what you are trying to do.
Maybe a screen shot.
Thanks,

I've got a base site topo (mesh). In the past, I've found it a hassle to edit meshes. I thought it would be easier to overlay a smaller, edited, mesh over my base site and execute an SEO (to fill-in/cover my cuts & fills). The Base has a thickness... but the "overlay" has no thickness. (I've tried with & without and doesn't seem to make a difference.

Is this a job for Architerra?

In the screen shot... the overlay is hovering a few feet above the base mesh.
edit: Overlay is the darker green disk.

Marc,
Are you sure the the overlay mesh is truly solid or is it a surface only
mesh with skirt ? The only way to make sure is to cut a section
through it and see if it is hollow. If it is solid give it enough thickness
to extend down into the terrain mesh and try a SEO with the terrain
mesh as target, the overlay mesh as operator, and subtract with
downward extrusion. This will check whether there is something
else wrong that prevents the SEO from working.

Peter:
It's solid. I've tried it every way (target, Operator, - up and -down). It won't SEO. At least now, I know it's possible..... So I got that going for me

Not sure what to try.

There must be a better technique to revise a contoured mesh?

Marc,
Yes, I was curious about why you wanted to use a second mesh
instead of editing the terrain mesh because it would take exactly
the same amount of time to edit the second mesh as editing
the terrain mesh.
Could you send me via e-mail attachment the project with
the two meshes in it. Please zip the file.
I would like to look at it and possibly
discover what the problem is.
My e-mail address is in my signature.
I have AC 9 so I will open the file in 9.
Thanks,

We'll.. I got what I needed by subtracting the overlay mesh from the base (drilled a hole thru it).
