Carriage stringer stair

So you can't make a carriage stringer that is probably 80% of the stairs in the world. Seems on par with archicad.

Not quite sure I follow.

Stairs can have stringers and they can extend above the treads.

But that is not what the original poster wants.

They want an infill panel floating above the treads that fits between the posts and bottom rail.

Stringers encase the treads.

A carriage stair I believe has the treads supported on top of the stringers.

This can be done with beams and supports rather than stringers.

But for further discussions it would be best to start a new thread as this topic was marked as solved by the original poster and we are going slightly off topic.

Yes, you can make carriage stringers with beam supports instead of stringers with the "open stringer" option. You can't control them independently though like you can with stringers, so they don't work for what needs to be done most of the time in the real world unless it's new construction.

The picture on the right isn't what they would look like besides being kind of similar. Below is what they are in the real world in 99% of the stairs in my country. You can make these, but not control sides independent.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread with a complaint.

Who was the original poster?

What happened to the original post?

The original poster was probably a spammer.

They post a seemingly normal post and then later they add a spam link.

That gets them banned and their posts removed.

The replies stay, which seems to be what has happened here.
