Two screen captures, unselected and selected, section view of two elements with the same complex profile (some roof gable eave fascia+flashing) . In each picture, left is railing and right is beam. Parts disappear in the cut section of the beam element, while still showing their projection. No interaction with anything. Any idea what may be going on?

Can you do a similar image in 3D using a marquee to make the cut?
Then do the same unselected and selected image.

There is something in the top capping fill in the complex profile that is handled differently in beam and railing. I remember having seen that in projected faces, say side face edges of a cylinder, but not in sections.
[The bottom, drip edge flashing, which shows the same in railing and beam, section and 3D cut, is same fill and same thickness, both Finish, but had different surface overrides and Show Cut End Lines settings. Making them match made no difference.]

Yes it is strange if it is using the same complex profile.
As you have notices there seems to be no edges in the top flashing.
But why that is different for a beam and a railing, I am not sure.
All I can think of is a settings in the complex profile itself.
Are you sure that sill for the top flashing has a perimeter?

It has a perimeter, but in any case the funny thing is that the same profile is producing different results in beam and handrail.

Is it anything to do with the beam end line options in the beam settings?
