Composite Fill problem

I am having trouble with my composites. I just noticed that the separator lines were not showing up. I did not have this problem a few weeks ago but now I do. I have recently installed the latest patch but I do not know if this is causing the problem.
I did some more investigation and found that the problem seems to be when two adjacent fills are the same then the separator line does not show up. As I mentioned, I do not think that this was previously a problem.
I did change the adjacent fills and this seems to have fixed the problem.

As we now have the separator lines it seems that this is cumbersome and unnecessary. It would be easier for me if the fills could be the same--in my case: Empty Fills--and have the separator lines show up too.

Is this the way that the adjacent fills are supposed to interact?

Thank you,
John

PS
ArchiCAD Help for Composites lists the following path to Composite Settings:
Composite Structures settings are defined in Options > Attribute Settings > Composites.

In my version of ArchiCAD the menu path to Composite Settings is:
Options > Composites.

This is a bit confusing. I think that the Help Dialog could be fixed to match the ArchiCAD menus. I hope this is helpful.

I think this is related to your work environment, if Novice its Options / Composites, if Expert or Standard you go thru' Options / Attribute settings / Composites, just another level of stuff to filter thru.

Stuart,
Right you are. The path described in the Help text is available if I reset my Work Environment to Standard.
On my USA version I am offered 3 Work environments: Basic 9 US, Standard 9 and Standard 9 US. Apparently, we don't have Novice and Expert.
It would be great to see some sort of road map to the various Work Environments.
Thanks,
John
