Convert many fills to slabs or walls

Hello

I have a masterplan with thousands of fills - one for each of the buildings in a town.

Is there a way I can convert all the fills I select into slabs or walls of the same footprint to generate a block model quickly? I know I can use the magic wand on each individual fill, but it would save me a huge amount of time if I could do them all in one go.

Surely this is possible... (?!)

Thanks for any help.

ok here's one solution might not be the best but try it
also it depends do you want to make different heights of the fills or you want the whole city same level,
first you probably got masterplan on DWG or DXF format so
if you have 3d MAX it is easy

1). open masterplan in AC
2). select the desired files/polilynes that ieg. will have height of 15 m and export them as dwg or dxf,
3). in 3d max import the file and select all and then apply EXTRUDE modifier and set the desired (height)/amaunt (in max) of extrusion
4). export the model as .3ds
5). and in AC 9 (if you dont have AC 9 then find the import 3ds add-on for older AC) import/convert the 3ds created in max earlier and plase the "buildings" as .gsm objects in their place,
6). repeat these steps for multiple height values

hope this helps, bit complicated for reading but piece of cake to do it

ps. you have to be careful with the unit conversions all the time

Thanks for that, but i don't have 3D max... only AC9.

Any other ideas, anyone?

This is very very very very very easy with Architerra.

If you don't have it, just this job would be worth its price (its very cheap, really).
Just to give you a taste, this model was done in about half a day. And I had to build the houses individually, as number of stories was important.

thanks. i will see if i can convince my boss to get more add-ons.

however, it seems that this is something which should be easily achievable within archicad: extrude selected fills by a z-value... perhaps it's a question for the gdl group?
