Just did a Save-As from the 3D window and it works.

So now I realize that even though I can get a dwg of a 3D MODEL, there is no way to match the exact VIEW from the AC 3D window. I also can only get a parallel projection, as the perspective option is greyed out, but maybe that's a limitation of the viewer I'm using.
If you open the file in Autocad(if you have it) or in Draftsight (if you do not) take in consideration that it will display the model in "top view" and in wireframe.

You could place a marker (an arrow shaped slab or such) and the artist may be able to set up a view from there base on your perspective settings. Since none of us know his process it's hard to speculate.ejrolon wrote:Bingo--thank you. I use SolidWorks eDrawings to view and didn't realize that it was displaying the 3D model in plan view. Even I don't understand his process using the 3D DWG file, but I am giving him an EPX file, as I want the base work done in Piranesi.Dave wrote:Yes. It's just the viewer. For a DWG of the 3D view you should be able to save that from a 3D document window.
