Design>Complex Profile>Profile Manager> select NEW.
A drawing window will open.
Draw a profile (a section cut view) of what you want.
Pay attention to the fills you are using.
In C.P.s, it's all about the fills and their edges.
Any lines you draw are only guides, they don't show.
You will then extrude (stretch) that C.P. out on your plan.
Takes a bit of practice but you'll get it.
Hope that helps a bit.

Do you want something curved with the arch like the attached image?

I'am not the person how makes the question, but I have the same problem, and yes, I want something like your attached image, How can I do it?
I was trying with complex profile, but I can't make a vertical arc.

You're right,

You can't make it vertical, but you can rotate it saving it as an object

Do the free trial with OBJECTiVE to see if it suits your requirements. I made the arch by doing the following (referring to the attached image):
  • 1. Open an elevation view of the wall where the arch is to be placed. Draw the cross-section of the arch profile with a fill and create a section profiled object with OBJECTiVE > Component > New Profile.

    2. Place one of the new profile objects across the arch.

    3. Use OBJECTiVE > Tools > Bend to shape the profile to the arch

    4. Use the profile setting to extend the start of the arch (for the straight vertical section)

    5. Use OBJECTiVE > Tools > Split to cut the apex of the arch

    6. The finished result.

Are there any other methods for creating this, without using the cadimage plug-in?

Essentially, I just want to create a custom profile that I can curve vertically to create a curved architrave at the head of a window.

Cheers folks...

You could try it with morphs – with some prework it should be quite easy, I think.

I don't see how I can extrude a custom profile vertically to form a curve. I am not clued up on using morphs. Any example videos you can recommend?
