Creating New Object

I'm trying to create a new library object for a specific type of commercial kitchen equipment. The original 2D drawing of the equipment was drawn with polylines. When I copy the polylines, and then try to paste them in the "New Object" 2D symbol window, the polylines don't paste. I realize there isn't a polyline function in the 2D symbol tool box, but is there any other way to bring them in?

Just grab all the stuff and explode it in the floor plan window prior to copying it into the 2D object window. Like a lot of ArchiCAD, it is an absurd act but not catastrophic.
