The video shows how to make an Object (Chair icon on ToolBox) not a Wall (Wall icon in ToolBox), Objects do not host doors and windows, only Walls do. In AC 16 you can create a Composite Structure to use as a Wall (in the Help files see Configuration > Attributes > Composite Structures > Define a Custom Composite Structure), which will display the various skins in plan and section, but not 3D. AC17 has introduced a new attribute (Building Materials) that will display the wall composition in 2D, Section and 3D.

If the wall is actually an Object element, then it will not accept doors or windows, only Wall elements can host doors and windows. Post a detailed explanation of how you created the object, and a screen shot of its appearance, and someone should be able to suggest a better work flow.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.
