Detailing (Help!!)

I just recently shifted the whole office to Archicad 10 and we're starting to get comfortable with it (Thanks to Virtual Tutor!).

I read somewhere that Archicad doesn't allow details to be taken from details. So if I have a partial elevation as a detail at say 1:10, I can't take a spot detail from that, right?

So how do you work around this? Help would be greatly appreciated, in light of the fact that I have to push construction drawings out by next week.

The partial elevation should be a section/elevation. You CAN take a detail from that.
