Display order - manual shows wrong order?

Hi everyone. I've been playing around with display order issues the last few days as they have been causing a few headaches on our projects. Am I right in thinking this extract from the online manual has the stack order the wrong way around?

In reality, Figures are on 5, Zones & 2D fills on 6, 3D strucutres on 7, Library parts on 8, 2D artwork on 9 and Annotations on 10.

Or have I misunderstood!

Nik

I think it would be very good that "Display Order" will be parameter of every element so this can be handled in big projects. At the moment this can be adjusted only by selecting every element and its a bit hidden away, or maybe "Display Order" can be assigned to layers that would be even more easy to handle.

Yes it seems the default display order may be a little different from what you show in that documentation (I am not sure how old that is or where it was from).

You can check the display order by placing a few different elements, select them and use the 'Element Information' tool to see what the display order is.

I find it really doesn't matter though.

99% of the time it is OK.

For the few times it is not, I have a custom 'Arrange Elements' tool bar set up at the top of my screen. Slightly smaller than the standard one, and I have the lock/unlock, show all layers in another toolbar at the bottom near my layer controls.

Very easy then to adjust forwards or backwards.

If I get messed up, I just reset.

What the actual order is, I really don't care.
