Dormer Shed Roof

I am trying to add a shed dormer from the object library to a hip roof. The dialog box won't allow me to change the length of the shed roof. Hence it projects through the hip roof and beyond (see attachment). Why won't archicad allow me to adjust the roof length?

The dormer object may be more trouble than it's worth. I'd suggest just drawing the dormer using normal tools. You'll have more options with the window that way, too.

I've got to agree with Richard. I always found the dormer objects to be a pain.

Same here. I wish there was a better way to do dormers, but so far, not.

i've tried the dormers also and the sunroofs and i think it is easier to make a dormer and seo everything to the roof below.
