Drag a copy bug

Hello,

We have found a bug in archicad 9 build 2219 regarding the ctrl shortcut key to enable or disable the drag a copy feature.

What we do is:

Start draging: ctrl+d
Zoom in: ctrl+/
Now the little plus symbol is displayed and we cannot turn it off by pressing ctrl untill we zoom in again.

Is there some way to disable the ctrl shortcut key. If we want to drag a copy we will do ctrl+shift+d.

Thanks,
Adam

I've had this problem as well. Try pressing control+D again.

I have encountered similar problems recently and have had to restart archicad to regain proper function. One time it was similar to the above description and another time the "drag a copy" action would not be initiated with the option or command option combination (on a Mac). I tested mirror and rotate and had the same problem. Closing Archicad and launching it again resolved the issue.

This is a bug and no unfortunately you can't disable the ctrl feature.

Besides that it sounds like you are not using the most efficient method to zoom. I'd recommend investing in a scroll wheel mouse and zooming dynamically with the wheel. You won't believe how much faster it is to navigate around your project.

That mouse will pay for itself in gained productivity in just a couple of days!

The scroll wheel "button" allowing you to pan will make you smile as well...

Glad to know its not just me, hopefully graphisoft can fix this in a hotfix...

I do agree that using the scroll wheel on the mouse is the easiest way to zoom, and we do have them, unfortunatly our drafters have just upgraded from version 7 where there is no scroll function. They are all accustomed to using the shortcut keys for zooming and why not, its actually quite qucik when you are used to doing it this way.

So is manual drafting. This is not the attitude to be taken if you want to maximize your productivity and get the most out of ArchiCAD. In fact I have a special long wooden stick for people who use ctrl+/ instead of scrolling. I use the same stick on people who use the sliders on the side of the screen.

You need to do everything you can to stop this practice mate!

it wouldbe nice if we could get rid of the scroll bars on the side of the screen, they dont really work properly anyway and it would mean a few extra mm's of desktop space
