Dragging all stories will Thick Marquee

Hi,
As I understand one can use the Thick Marquee in one story (plan) and drag all stories above and below. But I can not make it happen, what is the step I am missing? (I do select the elements on the story I am in)

The objects don't have to be selected. Make sure you are on the marque tool, make marque, get a check symbol when you are on a node. Click and move were you want it. If you still have problems, explain your steps on what you are doing.

In fact you MUST NOT have anything selected. You can also stretch by clicking on an edge (mercedes cursor) inside the marquee, or use the stretch (or drag) command from the edit menu and click anywhere to define the vector.

I found this old post and I am having this problem now. I have used the marquee to "catch" the model I want to move. I zoom into the reference point which is highlighted with a tick (corner of a wall) and click on it. I then click on the point I want to move it too, and... nothing.
I have tried holding down the mouse and dragging, and same thing, nothing.
Tried right click, move & drag and it just selects that object.

When the marquee is placed, and with nothing selected, try using the keyboard shortcut (control-D) or menu command for Drag, then click on your start point and then the end point. Or just click on an empty area before using the right-click method.

Thanks, it appears that the distance I wanted to move was too little, as I tried moving it a greater distance. But on restart, it works now.
