As a work around we use the empty window object with a zero sill height, in some cases, to be able to list windows & set custom listing texts on plan. We us this method to get a correct look in plan as well as elevation. Anyway, in AC 9.0 this is no longer possible.
Eventhough the sill height is set to Zero i get lines showing the wall thickness on plan. I know that windows & doors use the Cover fill function, but how do i get rid of the lines?

I'm not sure why you want to do what you are doing but does this answer your question?
In the Windows Selection Settings dialogue box go to Parameters/2D Representation/Use Fills and set it to OFF.
In your plan view, select the empty opening and set the Door/Window Floor Plan Contours button as shown below. (red arrow)
