Exploding a PDF??

I am trying to combine 2 PDF's...I dragged them in using place external drawing and then tried to explode them..it doesn't do anything. It worked before with other drawings.

I doubt there is a way to explode a pdf since it is formatted for exchange of data or image.

using Adobe Illustrator, you can convert the PDF to a DWG. Then Explode will work.

Only works with vector PDFs though.
