Go to:
File -> Modules and X-Refs -> Hotlink Manager
Then, in the window that comes up, select the module you want to explode/break and click 'Break Link'...

Select the Module, then click File > Modules and XRefs > Module Settings....
You will see a button to break the hotlink. This will break the link and keep the elements of the module grouped together.

I prefer this way, as I often want to re-use the link:
Select and copy the module's content. Paste it. Undo. Redo. (this will make all of it selected). Group.
Turn off the original module's master layer to hide the original.
Then Suspend groups, and start editing the copy.
This way, you can always re-activate the originally placed module should you want it, without going through the trouble of re-placing it again and have to reapply any transformations (movement, rotation etc) that you had done.
