Fill Patterns - Vectorial vs. Bitmap (leave it on Vectorial)

was driving me bonkers this one facet of the "fills" and how the behaved.
thanks Henry Berger (newly acquired GS guru) for helping me out with this issue.

This is a display-only setting. Fills will always print with their vectorial hatches.

Although probably not as relevant these days, it used to be very handy to speed up display refresh time.
