Gable Roof Corner Joinery

I attached a picture of the situation. Is there any way to join these to gable roofs so the eaves aren't crossing one another and, instead, terminate into each other?

You should trim each roof to each other and this will solve your problem but create another since you are trying to create a roof eave/fascia with your roof as well.

These days I draw my roof plywood sheathing (5/8" thick) and draw my eave/fascia as a wall profile. More work, yes, but better detail and more control. Plus you can draw a section through your wall/roof and it should look just like the detail you want. Which translates into less work when detailing. So everything works out in the end.
