Hidden lines in 3D document - version 16

Barry Kelly

Does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere to control hidden lines in a 3D document in version 16?
I have a file that when I create a 3D document it will show all the hidden lines (see attached image).
When I open the source view it is showing solid surfaces.

Already existing 3D documents are displaying fine.

I can fix it by opening an existing 3D document that is OK and then opening the source view - rotating and then saving a new 3D document.

But curiosity has got the better of me and I want to find if there is a setting somewhere.

I notice in version 17 there is now an new "Hidden edges" option that does exactly what I want.
Problem is this file is to stay in 16 for now.

Barry.

The Hidden Line option was developed in AC17 so Floor Plan based 3D Documents can have better represention (I think).

Is it possible that you have some of your layers set to Wireframe in the AC16 file?

Nope, no layers in wire frame.
When I open the source view it all looks fine.
Save as a new 3D Document and I get the hidden lines again.
If I open a different 3D Document that is OK.
I can open that source view, rotate to what I want an save that as a 3D Document and that one is fine.
So I have got around the problem but am just curious as to why it has happened.
I can't find any settings that control it.
