Hide Slap in 2d, but not in 3D

Is it possible to hide the slab in 2d and only show it in 3d?

The reason for wanting this is because when the mouse hovers over an "empty" area, the slab changes color and it's irritating;)

Yes if you use different layers in plan and 3D - show the slab layer in 3D but turn it off in plan.

This is probably because you have the 'Quick Select' (Magnet) option turned on for your selection tool.
Personally I leave this turned off and if ever I need to select a element by a surface then I use the space bar shortcut to toggle it on temporarily.
