Iam Currently using Archicad 9 and my problem is this my company has been using autocad C & G to use our coordinates is their a way to set coordinates in Archicad for example the way the building is built using the archicad each of the coordinates we use building are Knats ass but what they build in the feild is off maybe 1inch to 1foot our men go out to the feild to get the coordinates of whatver we build and with those coordinates we input them in the Autocad and BOOM we have the orginal and the asbuilt product can archicad do this???? and I would have never guessed that graphisoft would use final fantasy and soul calibur characters as an Avatar kind of strange No

I assume you want to know if Archicad can receive x/y coordinates to outline a building.

The answer is yes.

It would really help if you worked on writing coherent sentences.

My response was never intended as a criticism of you. I take part in this discussion because I learn a lot by doing so while having the opportunity to help others learn how to use ArchiCAD. I think that you will find that most of those who participate here on a regular basis share the same feelings.

In order for us to answer a question we have to understand it. My own response and the only other response to your question here, indicate that you are not making yourself understood. I hope you can take these responses as they were intended. They say that we are glad to help but need to understand what it is you are asking in order to do so.

Splinter are you refereing to real world coordinates, such as laying out a lot geologically accurate or a simple take off coordinates.....such as a perimeter of a building....sitting any where in space.....

Iam refering to simple take off coordinates. For Example Northing and Easting .If I Create a simple footing and wish to place coordinates on the footing in archicad, When the footing is being place on the jobsite they send me coordinates of where the actual footing is. What iam trying to do is import the actual coordinates of what was built to my Archicad drawing. And Thank you for your help And I can possible help I would try as well

Try changing your working units in your preferences to decimal feet and surveyor units and see if that gives you what your looking for.

That was helpful Mike thanks. Also How would I place a coordinate on a point or multiple points like in Autocad C&G,and since I have your attention I just downloaded the art lantis demo 4.5 ... how do I import my Archicad drawings to it for further rendering?

ArchiCAD tends to do 'Southing and Westing' when you put in surveyor's coordinates...I always double check and if necessary reverse or draw in the reverse (minus) direction. This topic has appeared several times since joining an earlier version of this forum in '99.

Now I hope your surveyor's field measurements are as accurate as what I'm sure your trying to do in the office.

Hope this Helps (HTH) & Good Luck.
