ArchiStair errors

Enthusiast
I really want to love ArchiStair. However, it is not without is oddities. Making custom stairs with fills only works if I use a single fill and slice them up using the "Split" command. doing it any other way results in a "non contiguous fill" error.

Still, when I get it to recognize the fills and tell it the start and end points of the stair, it then places a dot for the stair part. Opening the dot gives the following message "Error while opening The GDL sourse at line 0 of file AStair_localizator.gdl"

Twarted on my first iregulay circular stair

Any got past this? Libraries are loaded per instructions....

Hi Chazz,

here I am for helping you.
Let me answer to your two troubles: in the first case please, send me an example of two (or more) fills which cause you the problem, I never get this trouble but someone else complained about this and it could help a lot to see the “real” situation.

For the second one, this is what you should do:

Please, never move the add-on library (now I’m talking about ArchiStair but this advice is also for all our other add-ons) from its original place. This library could contains (and in ArchiStair case it contains!) some needed macro. If you keep this folder in the original place (I mean just near the add-on itself) ArchiStair should automatically load it. In the case of ArchiStair, due to its success (!), we added a new macro (just that one that is missing in you case) that handle some localization issue. When you start ArchiStair, if this macro is missing, ArchiStair automatically creates it… but this works only if it can handle the library folder near itself (never mind if the library is manually loaded: IT SHOULD BE NEAR ARCHISTAIR).

If you have any other question, please don’t hesitate to directly contact me (also about the fills example, send them directly to fabrizio.diodati@cigraph.com).
