I want to create a normal roof that follows all around the building.
please see the photo attached showing what i am talking about.
how can i do this ?

thank you.
but.... i can create the complex roof.
i can click on the outside line, get the pet pallet and cut a square out.
but i cant click another line on my roof, also get the pet pallet and make a cut. so.... i get a correct atrium shaped roof ?
what blond thing am i doing wrong ?

I think you should click the Pivot Line polygon, not the outline of the Roof.

Are Roof Pivot Lines shown?
Make sure the View\On-Screen View Options\Roof Pivot Lines menu option is ON.
Plus, you need to use the Subtract from Polygon command of the Pet Palette.
