Of course you'll want my book "LightWorks in Archicad" that discusses this matter in detail, but to outline the steps for making a material surface that will appear in all three rendering engines:
- SAVE the texture image in a new folder placed in your active Archicad Library.
-RE-LOAD the library [only once - this adds it to the database of available images]
-OPEN the Material Settings dialog. It will open a material. Duplicate and rename the material since there is no "new" option.
- CALL the Internal Engine. [Also provides OpenGL texture info]
-CALL your image into the texture. Specify special effects created by the Alpha Channel if it exists in that image.
-SIZE the texture appropriate to reality.
-SWITCH to the LightWorks Engine.
- PRESS "Match Internal Engine." This action brings the settings from the Internal Engine settings, but most importantly, the texture map size.
That is the method, disregarding the detailed tweaks and adjustments that make a surface look more realistic.
