Inserted 3DS object and now my model rotates crazy ?

hi guys.
I have a small clean model.
I just received a building for my model in sketchup format.
coneverted it to 3ds in cinema.
imported it into my model and PERFECT. looks good.
But now when i rotate around my model, the camera swerves out miles ?
i think the centre point of this sketchup model is miles away from my model centre 0,0,0.
How can i fix this, so when i pan around the 3d view, the camera stays around my model and not 60 miles away.
any help would be super.

try the explore mode. it's much easier to get the right angles once you're used to the interface...
