Intersection issues in log walls

hello!

i came across this problem while drawing with log walls.

the walls have identical settings, the reference line is on the inside of the house and I get 3 different solutions for this type of corner. the 3rd one is the spookiest. I get these lines also in elevations.

here are the wall settings, for the log part

can anyone help, please?

newbies get answers, too, don't they?

or is this an unique problem?

Lack of a reply might mean that nobody has an answer, sorry.

Personally I have never drawn a log home (only ever SEEN one!). Surely someone will help you though.

Good Luck.

it's my first log house, too

and i'm just trying to avoid drawing cover fills all over the elevations, just to simulate the log wall

btw, if the graphisoft ppl are listening: if you made this tool just for the fun, it's okay, but it's a long way from this to something anybody can really use in making a log house. it totally non-customizable, like choosing a profile, using only log walls (there are also timber-frame walls, glulam, etc) and so on (i think you know what i'm talking about here)

but hey, i hope the contractor has archon software and the house will survive.

thx

Graphisoft has a product called Log Home Solution specifically for log home builders, but I don't know what kind of support it's getting these days. In fact I don't even know if it's been upgraded for ArchiCAD 10.

It seemed like GS was caught between supporting existing users and hoping it would just go away. Hopefully they will reconsider their support for it, because it was a good product.

Anyway, it seems that this problem definitely has to do with your log radius method. If possible, try using the other one. Obviously this was not a problem in AC9, so it's a bug.

Cheers,

By chance, are you using multi-story walls for the tall ones? I have had odd intersections depending on multi-story settings. Play with those settings and see if it cleans up.

yes pete, those 2 walls are multi-storey

let me see if I change them, what happens...

and: yes, the walls are ok in 2D. I even switched their orientation but no results.
